Pat Duncan with Harlan County Extension Office came to the Harlan HRC facility and she brought the west with her. She had a “Cowboy Day” with the residents and each person received a cowboy hat to channel their inner John Wayne.
The excitement didn’t stop there. Duncan made sure the residents had a rootin’-tootin’ good time and played cowboy-themed games. Among the games featured were llama roping and horse shoes. Whoever was able to wrangle down a llama or get a ringer in horse shoes, got a bandit-like bandana to accessorize with their cowboy hat. And like the cowboys settled the west, the residents settled their appetites with some delicious snacks synonymous with the cowboy life after a hard day’s work on the ranch.
