Coloring eggs, eating pizza and treats and washing it down with some punch was an exciting way for the residents of Harlan Health and Rehab to enjoy Easter. And it that deliciousness wasn’t already enough, it was topped when their furry friend, the Easter Bunny, showed up to visit with them and take pictures while also being there for the Easter Egg Hunt.

Easter’s tradition of colored eggs and the Easter Bunny have a long history. The egg is considered an ancient symbol of new life and is associated in celebrating spring. In Christian circles, eggs are said to represent Jesus’ emergence from the tomb and resurrection on the third day. As for the Easter bunny, that tradition first arrived in America when German immigrants living in Pennsylvania in the 1700s Pennsylvania brought their tradition of an egg-laying hare called “Osterhase” or “Oschter Haws.”

The residents and staff of Harlan HRC wants to wish everyone a Happy Easter and to have blessed day.
